I never thought they could do it twice, but they did! This piece of art is just as good, if not better, than their first, "Turn the Radio Off"! Returning with a new rock 'n roll sound, the tunes on this album tend to be a little on the heavier side. But that doesn't matter at all, because this album is AWESOME!!! The CD starts out with "Somebody Hates Me" a tune about getting people upset and making enemies with them. "Brand New Song" is about a new song that the guys would like to share with us: "I've got a brand new song. It is so happy, happy. I've got a brand new attitude. It is so hateful, hateful." It's the new them. "She's Famous Now" is a great song that somewhat reflects the message from "Sell Out", Reel Big Fish's first single. "You Don't Know" me is kinda a theme for the witness protection agency, not really, just a punk band who ended up in my living room somehow. "The Set Up" is their first single off of this album. It is very "rocky" but nonetheless, AWESOME!!! "Thank You For Not Moshing" kinda reflects the ideals of a high school student that is violent. "And you know I'm really cool, 'cause I played football in high school...Look out fag there's gonna be a fight..." And you can all guess what "I'm Cool" is all about. Of course, no Reel Big Fish album would be complete without their theme song, this version is slower. "I Want Your Girlfriend To Be My Girlfriend Too" is the theme song of every guy's life. "Everything Is Cool" is kinda a new version of "Everything Sucks" from the last album, only everything doesn't suck anymore, or does it? "Song #3" is unique in that it brings about a Reggae type sound with a guest vocalist. "Scott's A Dork" is about, well, Scott being a dork I guess. "Big Star" the thank you song of the album, thanking all of us friends for spitting on us? "The Kids Don't Like It" has to do with all you punks who haven't purchased this album yet. "Down In Flames" well I hope this isn't a prediction on how Reel Big Fish's career is goin to go. "Victory Over Peter Bones" reminds me of "The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill" off of the Beatle's White Album, don't ask me why, it just does!!! Well that's a quick wrap up of the CD, now go get it. |
